Neck Pain

Whether a result of poor posture, injury or stress, neck pain can affect every area of your life and, if not properly treated, may lead to other health problems. Common symptoms of neck dysfunction include:

Frequent headaches,

Pain in one or both arms, and

Numbness and/or tingling in the wrists or hands.

Regular chiropractic treatments have proven to reduce pain and improve overall health. A neck adjustment (also known as cervical manipulation) is a precise procedure applied by a chiropractor to the joints in the neck. Our patients who have received neck adjustments have experienced increased movement and range of motion in the neck as well as improved mobility in the adjoining muscles.

Because neck pain can stem from a variety of issues, we recommend a full chiropractic evaluation by Dr. Travis Ring before beginning any treatment. During the evaluation, Dr. Ring may ask you questions such as:

  • When did you first start experiencing neck pain?
  • What steps have you taken to alleviate your neck pain?
  • Does the pain travel to any other parts of your body?
  • Are there any activities that cause the pain to increase?

Dr. Ring will also perform a physical and neurological exam. The physical exam will allow him to observe your posture, range of motion, spine alignment and curvature as well as any muscle spasms. During the neurological exam, Dr. Ring will test your reflexes, muscle strength and other nerve changes. Once an evolution is complete, Dr. Ring will be able to develop a personalized treatment plan that may include mobilization, massage or rehabilitative exercises.

Although many Americans suffer from neck pain on a daily basis, you don’t need to. Through regular chiropractic care, Dr. Ring will help alleviate the pain and minimize inflammation. Our desire at Eastern Oklahoma Chiropractic is to design a wellness plan that helps you work toward eliminating neck pain and maximize your overall health potential.
